ASHA NIKETAN

The Helpers of Mary dared to go where no one dares to go and lives a challenging life. Asha Niketan, the second community in West Bengal was established on 24th June 2008. It was started by the request and great support of late Rev. Bishop James Toppo. He had great appreciation for the social service that has been carried out by the sisters in Madarihat, West Bengal. We were able to bring changes in the life situations of the tribals who work in the tea garden. The objectives of the centre is to bring development in the lives of the poor.

The centre is located on the National High way of Guwahati. The tea gardens are located about 5 kilometers away from the centre. It is our joy to work with poor Tribals who are scattered in five different tea gardens. Through our Residential Care home for children and vocational training programs many children are receiving education and youth are gaining skills to earn for their livelihood.
