Kripa Nilaya is situated in the town of Sedam in North Karnataka. Gulbarga is one of the most backward and underdeveloped districts in the whole of Karnataka. The living condition of the local people is deplorable, pathetic and pitiable. The work in Sedam began on 29th July 2007. Sisters travel daily about 10-30 kilometres to serve the poor living in remote villages. The transport facilities are very poor and many people are uneducated. The main occupation is agriculture and farming and working as laborers in cement factories. The people face water scarcity and they have to walk long distance to fetch water.
