1st May 2007, our mission was extended to Velliyamcode, the Southern tip of India in Trivandrum. People are very poor, underemployed and live on daily wages. Sisters reach out to the poor through social empowerment programs.

Sewing training was started for very poor women and widows. The duration of the course is 6 months and women who graduate are gifted with a certificate. These women come from poorest families, girls who drop out of school due to poverty, women who are illiterate and not skilled and widows who do not have anyone to support them with basic needs.

During this trainings, beneficiaries learn and develop skills in making skirts, blouses, petticoats, school uniforms etc.  This training provides self-employment at their homes, give them a daily income for the family expenses. Sewing training gives a real meaningful life, save their children and a secure a dignified life to them. As a result of this training women have empowered themselves.
