Asha Sadan was established on 15 November 1973 on two acres of land which consisted of a poultry farm.

The people living around the area were mainly adivasis. The sisters introduced non-formal education in Marathi for the children, beginning with the kindergarten, and coached the older children living in the neighbourhood.

A dispensary with maternity home was opened on 4 February 1974 to provide medical facilities, especially for children. Later, when medical care became available through other clinics, our dispensary was closed.

The children’s home was established in 1974 to care for those who were orphaned and neglected. Gradually as the number of children increased, Shailendra Nivas was constructed.

​

On 30 June 2018, Shanti Niketan was inaugurated. It is a rest home for our senior sisters who served humanity and are now unable to help themselves.
