KESS (Kuriakose Elias Service Society) Institute run by CMI fathers already existed at Hasalgoan Village. In 2004 they gifted the old house and land to SHM to open a centre, and Ashishdhara Gramin Vikas Prakalp was started on 14 April 2007.

To uplift and empower the people, the sisters organise self-help groups, awareness programs, capacity building workshops, livelihood assistance, loan facilities, income generating projects, cooperative credit society, legal aid facilities, advocacy and lobbing for different groups, and educational support for children and youth.
