Sisters, of the Helpers of Mary were invited by Fr. Salvodar Vaz in Uttan- Pali on 19th March 1975. He witnessed the work of the Helpers of Mary who faithfully carried out in Nirmal in medical & social field. During those years the importance of education was hardly given attention. Health and hygiene was of less importance, as parents were busy in their occupation of fishing. Children were left alone at home. The school dropout rate was extremely high, children were neglected, alcoholism was reaching to a great height, families were broken down, and people lived a simple and poor life.

Sisters studied the situation of the villages and found that medical aid was the essential need of the people. Thus dispensary was established to meet the needs of the people.
